Student perspective on critiques

I had the good fortune of hosting a class critique today, and had a chat with the student who volunteered their work for the class to scrutinise. I have the feeling it was her first experience of this, yet her astute assessment of this is perfect. The discussion was solely about the work, yet her comments are about the process of reflecting and learning to criticise your own work. This has happened before. the strange thing is, is that I did not even attempt to promote this idea, it just seems obvious to the students. The pictures show that the discussion focussed on the quality of the work.
